Melamchi, September 12: Prakash Shrestha has been designated by the government as the chair of Melamchi Town Development Committee.
Shrestha is also the chairman of the Melamchi Bazaar Management Committee and treasure of the Nepali Congress Regional Working Committee of Sindhupalchowk district.
Recently appointed chair Shrestha argued that he will play an essential role to manage the developmental activities in the area as it is rapidly urbanizing.
Ministry of Local Development has recommended making Melamchi as Municipality by including different seven VDCs of the areas to the Council of Ministers.
