Kathmandu, Aug. 7: A signature collection campaign has begun from today in the coordination of the Sanatana Hindu Rastra Nepal Concerned Struggle Committee, calling for declaring Nepal as a Sanatana Hindu State in the new constitution.

The signature collection campaign was initiated from the Pashupati area. The objective of the campaign is to exert pressure from the people’s level for having the country declared the Sanatana Hindu State.

A struggle committee had been constituted before this under the convenorship of Haribol Bhattarai for running the campaign. Senior scholar Modnath Prashrit, former Chief of the Army Staff Rookmangud Katwal and social workers Subarna Jwarchan and Ram Jeevan Singh are the members of the committee.

Committee convenor Bhattarai said the campaign would be taken to all the 75 districts of the country. The committee also plans to hold mock referendum at different places on the issue of whether or not Nepal should be declared a Sanatana Hindu State as part of the campaign. RSS
