Chitwan, 17 October 2014: Some six farmers of Chitwan have been felicitated with the President Best Farmer Award.
The District Agriculture Development Office on Thursday honoured farmers amid a programme organized at Bharatpur on Thursday on the occasion of 34th World Food Day.
Among the felicitated towards agriculture are Prakash Pant of Ablum Flora Farm, Chitrawan of Bharatpur municipality-7, Yagya Prasad Subdei of Jayaambe Multi Agro Padampur and Hari Bahadur Nepal of Darechowk-4.
Likewise, towards livestock, Khagaraj Pathakof Agro Livestock Farm Geetanagar-6, Kulananda Adhikari of Adhikari Cow Farm and Bed Prasad Sapkota of Saugat Animal Farm, Bharatpur-8 were felicitated. The awarded farmers also received cash prize of Rs 10,000 each.
Meanwhile, the winner farmers and students of different competition organized on the occasion of Food Security Day were also felicitated.
Chief District Officer Janardan Gautam, Chief of District Agriculture Development Office Somnath Ghimire and acting Local Development Officer Madhav Prasad Uprety, among others, also spoke on the occasion.
