Six thousand workers jobless due to closure of five jute industries

Pathari, 17 October,2014:  Some six thousand workers have become jobless as four jute industries run in Katahari area of Morang district have been closed.

According to General Secretary of the Morang Trade Association Prakash Mundada, the workers of Guheswori jute industry of Naresh Rathi, CM of Nanda Kishor Rathi, Baba Jute of Devenara Mundada, and Nicky of Tribhuwan Mansingh Shrestha and the Biratnagar Jute Mill have been closed.

General Secretary Mundada said so many workers and staff have been jobless as there was no government cooperation including in power crisis. They say some 1,000 million rupees of investment has lost.

Some one dozen jute industries of Morang and Sunsari districts have been affected. In such a situation, the government could neither resolve problems of electricity nor provided grant and jute industries are in crisis, said Proprietor of Guheswori Jute Mills Naresh Rathi.
