Kathmandu, Dec 7,2014: The fourth edition of the SPA Cricket Cup Tournament with the biggest prize in the country will be held from January 30 to February 7 next year.
The tournament will be held at Dhangadhi’s Seti Regional Police Office field, said coordinator Subash Shahi, at a press conference held here today by the Sudur Paschim Academy (SPA).
A total of 16 teams from various districts including Kathmandu will be competing in the tournament in which the victorious team will receive Rs 500,000 and the runner up Rs 200,000.
The man-of-the-series will receive Rs 50,000 while the best batsman, bowler, fielder and best foreign player will receive Rs 25,000 each. Each of the team will be able to play with two foreign players.
Likewise, the best emerging player of the tournament will be prized a Cricket Kit while man-of-the-match in each of the games will receive Rs 5,000.
City College from Biratnagar, New Horizon from Bhairahawa, Hollyland from Nepalgunj, Sunrise from Kanchanpur, Tripura Sundari of Achham, Dasharath Chand of Baitadi, Namuna Mahendra Higher Secondary from Dadeldhura, Durgalaxmi of Atariya, Tribhuvan Campus of Tikapur, the host Far-western Academy, Golden Gate, Pentagon and CCRC College from Kathmandu will compete for the top prize, according to the organizers.
