Lumbini (Rupandehi), Nov 7: Preparations are on to deploy the Indian security personnel along with Nepali security personnel for providing security to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his Lumbini visit.
Preparations were underway to deploy the Indian security personnel in plain clothes for Modi’s visit after the Indian Prime Minister’s visit to Lumbini was confirmed, according to sources.
High alertness has been adopted in Rupandehi, Kapilvastu and Nawalparasi districts of Lumbini zone in this connection.Â The local administration has beefed up security in view of Modi’s visit, said Chief District Officer of Rupandehi, Bal Krishna Panthi. Panthi said they would not leave any stone unturned for Modi’s security.
Modi will be coming to Kathmandu to take part in the SAARC Summit from Patna, India via Janakpur. In Janakpur, he is scheduled to offer worship at the Ramjanaki temple.
The Indian security personnel would be briefed at the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu about the security system a week before his visit to this Buddhist shrine; however, some 200 Nepal Army and 500 each of the Armed Police Force and Nepal Police personnel will be deployed for the security of the Indian Prime Minister.
