19 teams vying for Second IT Futsal Cup

Kathmandu, February 23, 2016: 19 teams from various corporate organizations are battling in the second edition of IT Futsal Cup 2017 that is starting from today.  Being organized with the slogan of “growing together…”, the tournament seeks to promote the game of futsal in order to foster healthy intra as well as inter-corporate relations among youths in IT sector.

The tournament is being organized to cater to the specific needs of the corporate companies and to provide a platform for IT employees in the sports sector. The tournament also seeks to inspire the initiation of similar events in the town.

“Through this little endeavor, we expect to bring a sense of togetherness among the participants who are passionate about the game. This event will also be helpful for the employees to work as a team,” said the organizers in a statement. At a time when there are hardly a few opportunities for products/companies to be associated with this sector involving the youth, owing to the lack of activities, event will deliver thrill and excitement to players seeking an avenue to demonstrate their talents as well as maintain good relations with the IT companies, the statement added.

The prime motive of the event will be to enhance corporate teamwork and leadership, foster healthier inter-companies and inter-organizational relations, and provide a common platform for players sharing a common liking for the game.

The first edition of the tournament was held on 21st May 2016, and saw the participation of 18 teams in total.
