Kathmandu, Nov 6,2014: The huts and stalls at the Purano Bus Park are being removed to make more parking space in view of the upcoming SAARC Summit to be held from 26-27 November.

The Kathmandu Metropolitan Municipality Implementation Division Chief Dhanapati Sapkota said the stalls were being removed as parking space could shrink during the SAARC Summit.

At least 34 stalls were demolished at the Bus Park. Small scale business entrepreneurs have been making their living by selling fruits, vegetables and clothes from the stalls located at the Bus Park.

The entrepreneurs are hopeful that the stalls would be reconstructed after the SAARC Summit. They, however, said no such discussion has taken place with the municipality officials.
