Kathmandu, Dec 8: Sunita Danuwar, Chairperson of the Shakti Samuha, has left here today for Taiwan to receive the ‘Asian Democracy and Human Rights Award-2015’.
The award carrying a purse of USD 100,000 would be presented to Danuwar on December 10, the International Human Rights Day. The award is provided by Taiwan Foundation for Democracy.
The Foundation presents the award to the individual and organisation for their remarkable contribution to the promotion of human rights and democracy in Asia every year. The Foundation decided to present the award to Danuwar for her and the Samuha’s notable role in the fight against human trafficking. RSS
