Chautara, Aug. 2: The death toll in the landslide-triggered inundation at Jure of Sindhupalchowk district has reached eight, police said.
Identity of six persons has been ascertained.
The identified deceased are Abhishekh Shrestha, 40, of Batase-1, Ashma Devi Shrestha, 18, Ram Devi Shrestha, 17, Ganesh Maya Shrestha, Bimala Shrestha, 30, and, Shyam Shrestha 40, of Mankha-1, said DSP Bharat Bahadur Bohara.
Two others are yet to be ascertained, police said. As many as 16 people including one Belgian national were rescued so far, police added.
