Sarlahi, 11 June, 2015 : District-level T20 cricket tournament finals was held under floodlights on wednesday night.

The match held at the Tinbighe ground of the DDC in Malangwa, the district headquarters of Sarlahi had begun at 9:30 pm last night. It concluded at 3:30 am this morning.

It was very new and enthralling experience for the local cricket fans to watch an overnight cricket match in their home ground. Overnight cricket matches were only watches by them in the television screen.

To win the title, Jaya Matadi cricket club in Malawangwa municipality-2 defeated hosts Durga Cricket Club by 6 wickets in the final match.

Batting first after wining the toss, at the loss of nine wickets, Durga club had posted a challenging total of 153 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. However, it did not prove sufficient in the end.

Jayamatadi club reached the victory target of 154 runs in 19.4 overs at the loss of 6 wickets.

16 cricket clubs in total from the district had taken part in the tournament that began on May 16. Tulasi Yadav of the organising club said,”Though all the other matches were played in daylight, the final was organized under floodlights.”
