Government of Norway willing to aid the education sector of Nepal

Dolakha, March 9, 2018: At the inaugural ceremony of Devitar Basic School at Loting, Chilankha of Bigu Rural Municipality that was constructed with the help of Government of Norway, Nikolai Astrup, Minister of International Development of Norway, has expressed Norway government’s commitment to partner with Nepal for its educational development.

Astrup mentioned that Norway would continue to provide support to Nepal under any circumstances for the development of education sector and for the all-round development of children. Additionally, Astrup also interacted with teachers, students and members of the school management committee. He conversed with people’s representatives of Bigu and Kalinchok Rural Municipalities.

According to Yudhisthir Khadka, Chairman of Bigu Rural Municipality, Astrup inquired about the federalism, good governance and development model incorporated in the Constitution of Nepal as well as about the effectiveness of the assistance provided by the Norwegian government.

The government of Norway has aided Dolakha with Rs 300 million for the reconstruction of 22 damaged school buildings in Dolakha.
