Have you guys ever been obsessed with any series? Have you been lost in the series so much that you didn’t wanted your eyes to even rest. Well, sounds weird but it has happened to me.
When I don’t have anyone to talk on Facebook, when I am tired of watching Instagram stories, and when my What’s app gets inactive, I choose YouTube out of all. It has been my favourite companion. Sometimes I watch motivational videos, which boost me, sometimes my favourite reality shows that seems unreal, also sometimes some series and dramas that is interesting with its review.
Since my teenage time, I love Asian dramas so much. The simple story with a very good looking actor and actresses made my drama journey more exciting. I started watching these kinds of dramas to kill my free time. But now, I rarely get free time. However, I watched many such kind of dramas of different genres like fantasy, love story, comedy, horror, suspense and also some supernatural stories. The Chinese, Korean, Thai dramas are really very good. It’s just I don’t understand the language they speak but the subtitles are at their best.
A week earlier I was wandering through YouTube site without knowing what to watch. I was casually exploring the trending section of Nepal and I didn’t find anything interesting to watch. Just then, I saw a poster that got poped out as an advertisement, with a mere caption which stated- Releasing today. The poster was actually so beautiful with two really good-looking actors in their traditional look and the name of the drama series was- “The Untamed”. The Untamed, firstly the name caught my interest. I was unknown about the meaning of the word Untamed, and instantly I googled it. The word means uncontrolled/wild. I just loved the title. I had not even started watching it, the series title and the poster was already in my mind. I was waiting for the release of that series. After the name hunt, I googled about the whole drama and I loved the summary given about the movie. Not just about movie, but all the casts and crews were so good, which I discovered on watching just a trailer.
I have watched a drama with total 30 episodes. But untamed was the longest drama ever watched. I finished those 50 episodes of Untamed within a Week and trust me,that was like the feast to an eye. Based on the fantasy web novel Mo Dao Zu Shi (translated as Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation) written by Mo Xiang Tong Xiu, the story was told as an animated series before The Untamed’s live-action adaptation. Starring two boy band icons, Wang Yibo of Korean-Chinese group UNIQ and Xiao Zhan of Chinese band X NINE, The Untamed immediately received attention from young-adult viewers. Wang Yibo and Xiao Zhan are two of China’s biggest stars in both music and film. The Untamed follows Wei Wuxian (Xiao Zhan) and Lan Wangji (Wang Yibo) as “cultivators”, with supernatural powers from different worlds who are forced to work together to protect the peace in their worlds. The two fight villains, solve a series of murders, and uncover a dark mystery.
Wei Wuxian& Lan Wangji couldn’t be more different in The Untamed. Wai Wuxian is irreverent, good-natured, and ruthless. In contrast, Lan Wangji is stoic, spiritual, and tragic, providing a perfect foil for his animated co-star. The Untamed is captivating. The characters, story, and artistry are all top-notch examples of great television. S1’s fifty episodes take us on a powerful path of complex storylines and heart-wrenching longing. We get to watch the characters of both Wei Wuxian and Lan Wang Ji grow and develop in compelling and sometimes surprising ways.
The agonizing friendship story between Wuxian and Wang Ji becomes all the more powerful through hidden smiles and heartfelt looks. Wuxian and Wang Ji perfectly embody the profound torment of a love that can’t be.
The characters were so skilled to portray the essence of roles so perfectly and now these both actors has been my favourite. It is indeed my favourite series and you won’t regret watching it as it has lots of magical elements in the series.
The learning I got from the movie is that there are two ways for a person to choose. Either the right way or the wrong way. It completely depends on us which way to lead and in the journey, you can find someone who always takes your side for your good deeds. And we should always cherish this kind of friendship.
