Third edition of the Gaindakot festival set to starts from January 29

Chitwan: The third edition of the Gaindakot festival will take place from January 29 to February 9 at the banks of the Narayani river. The festival hopes to provide entrepreneurs with a platform to sell their local products and attract both domestic and international tourists.

The coordinator of the festival and Chairperson of Nawalparasi Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Mr.Amrit Bhattachan, said that the local production will be encouraged and the main purpose of the festival is to encourage businesses in the region.

According to the Chief  Secretary of the festival secretariat, Mr.Chhavi Kandel, the budget for the festival is estimated at Rs 10 million. The revenue of the festival will be used to build a building for the federation. The festival will have 350 stalls and both national and international artists are invited to perform during the festival. Russian artists will be performing belly dance at the festival.

The entrance to the festival will be the structure of the Burj Al Arab and the London Bridge. Admission ticket for the festival is Rs. 50 but students and senior citizens will get a discount. The festival is being organized in partnership with Gandakot Municipality, Nawalpur District Coordination Committee, Nepal Chamber of Commerce of Nepal and Nepal Tourism Board.
