Three Major Parties Meeting Ended Without Conclusion

CPDCC MeetingKathmandu, October 6: A meeting of the three major political parties that was held at Singh Durbar today ended without conclusion.

The meeting was scheduled to finalize the most disputed issues of a new constitution but it could not reach any conclusion.

The form of governance, state restructuring, the electoral system and judicial system are the most disputed issues of the new constitution. The Nepali Congress, the CPN (UML) and the UCPN (Maoist) held the meeting but could not reach a conclusion due to their respective stances on the contentious issues.

Prime Minister and party president Sushil Koirala, vice-president Ram Chandra Poudel and general secretary Krishna Prasad Sitaula from the Nepali Congress, party chairman KP Sharma Oli, senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal and vice-chairman trio Bamdev Gautam, Vidya Devi Bhandari and Bhim Rawal from UML and UCPN (Maoist) chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, senior leader Dr Baburam Bhattarai and general secretary Krishna Bahadur Mahara were present in the meeting.
