Kathmandu,26 Nov 2014: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that the time has come to better connect the lives of our people.
In his inaugural address to the 18th South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation or SAARC Summit under way in the capital, he said tourism could be an option to connect them better.
“The concept of Buddhist circuit in the region needs immediate implementation in order to augment tourism in the region”, he said.Emphasizing on the importance of regional cooperation in the field of education, Prime Minister Modi said to make the only South Asian university a truly South Asian, at least one university of the every SAARC nation must be linked to it.
Reminding the horrible terror attacks in Mumbai, India in 2008, he stressed the need of mutual cooperation, investment and assistance to cope with every adversity including terrorism.
On the occasion, PM Modi also said that India was going to host a conference on space technology next year for the SAARC member countries.
Similarly, India will provide immediate medical VISA to the people from any SAARC country, going to India for medical treatment.Closing his speech, PM Modi said, “Lets move from cynicism to optimism and to realize peace and prosperity in the region”.
