Kathmandu, Sept 16: After the endorsement of the new constitution by the Constituent Assembly this evening, the top political leaders observed that it was a historic moment which would pave way for stability and prosperity in the country.
Let’s celebrate: PM Koirala
While exiting from the CA hall, Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Sushil Koirala said the dream coveted since 2007 BS has come true.
Giving a brief reply, he said, “Constitution is endorsed after the contribution from all side. I congratulate all and call everyone for celebration.”
Political transition ended: Leader Oli
CPN (UML) Chairman KP Sharma Oli responded that the CA has been successful to turn the longtime dream of Nepalis to reality with the endorsement of the constitution.
“With everyone’s contribution, this historic achievement has been possible. Now, the political transition ended; the doubt on second CA too ended,” he added. Leader Oli further said now the responsibility to Nepal, full of natural richness, is to implement the new constitution.
Nepal’s victory: Dahal
UCPN (M) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal described it as a realization of the Nepali people’s dream and a victory of people and nation as a whole. “As a leader of a party that has sacrificed and dedicated a lot for the constitution, I would like to congratulate all the people including those who contributed to it”.
Stating that the constitution is a dynamic document and it could still be amended, Chairman Dahal also appealed to all the parties outside of the CA to come for a dialogue and celebrate this occasion.
Happiest moment: Khanal and Deuba
CPN-UML senior leader Jhalanath Khanal said it was the happiest moment of his life and added that the people have taken it as a matter of pride and history to have drafted constitution through their representatives.
Likewise, senior leader Sher Bahadur Deuba said the Nepali people’s wish since the 50s has been fulfilled and urged the agitating political forces to come to the dialogue table and work for the prosperity of the country.
