Tourism website launched targeting Chinese tourists

Kathmandu, May 23, 2018: A customized website targeting the Chinese speaking tourists has been launched by the government amid a function in Kathmandu on Monday. The newly launched interactive website caters information in Chinese language.

The website was launched jointly by Rabindra Adhikari, Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation and Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Yu Hong during a program at Kathmandu on Monday. The website was designed and developed under the initiation of Nepal Tourism Board, the tourism promotion body of Nepal.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Adhikari said that the website was launched to serve the needs of the Chinese tourists visiting Nepal. He also added that the air connectivity between the two countries will be increased by adding flights to some new cities within a few months to facilitate the movements of visitors.

The website hosts information on various tourism destinations including photos and videos, activities that can be done during their stay in the country and other useful information for the Chinese people visiting Nepal.

The number of Chinese tourists visiting Nepal has been increasing in the recent years. The number of Chinese tourist was highest overtaking the arrivals from China during the first quarter of 2018.

Speaking at the program, the Chinese Ambassador to Nepal said that the bilateral tourism cooperation would promote people-to-people exchanges and create a harmonious atmosphere for the development of bilateral relations.
