Tourists activities up in Sagarmatha Region

Solukhumbu, Sept 28: Tourists arrival in Sagarmatha region, the location of the world’s highest peak Mt Everest, has increased. The domestic and foreign tourists arrive in the area to view the panorama of the Mt Everest during this season.

 

A large number of foreigners have arrived for a trek in the Khumbu region since the last few days. A large number of foreigners throng Solukhumbu district via Tenjing Hillary Airport, daily besides other points, according to Civil Aviation Authority, Lukla.

 

Different private and government airlines companies including Sita, Tara, Simrik, and Nepal Airlines operate around 30 flights daily with the flow of the travelers’ arrival in the district. Around 300 foreigners enter the district through air. Thousands of tourists prefer viewing Mt. Everest and other mountains on October and November every year.

 

Tourism entrepreneurs have begun to reach Lukla with the beginning of trekking season and they are happy due to favorable weather condition for flights as compared to the last couple of years.

 

They have already starting make good transaction from tourists arrival due to regular flights following the good weather condition this year.

 

The hotels in the trekking routes to the Khumbu regions have been full with tourists in Lukla, Jorsalle, Fakdin, Namche, Khumjung, and Temboche among other places on the way. The porters are found thronging uphill to earn money ignoring their upcoming festival Dashain and Tihar.

 

The tourism entrepreneurs have taken the good arrival of tourists as a positive sign for this year as there was high flow of tourists with the beginning of Nepali month Ashoj.

Around 25,000 tourists visit the Sagarmatha National Park annually for the last 10 years, according to the Park Office.
