Maintenance of the road is going on near Liping bazaar area too. However, some more days and rigorous efforts are expected to make the road accessible for the movement of goods-laden vehicles. The excavators, breakers and bulldozers sent from the Roads Division Office, Charikot, have been working to resume the vehicular movement by clearing the obstructions. Bhagawan Thapa, an official in the Roads Division Office, Charikot, said that works to remove the debris are going on from early morning to late evening but operation of excavators has been a tough job due to shortfall of petroleum products, and loadshedding.

Meanwhile, lawmaker Mohan Bahadur Basnet of Sindhupalchowk constituency no. 1 held an interaction programme on Saturday with the locals in Tatopani VDC and pledged electrification in the areas sooner. He also said that government should pay attention to open the Tatopani border and arrange road, electricity and drinking water as early as possible. Basnet shared that he has also urged the Chinese Ambassador to help resume the Tatopani border by resuming the blocked highway. After the disastrous earthquake, the Tatopani entry point and the entire VDC is almost empty except some families and security personnel.

A local resident, Sang Dorje Sherpa, said that role of government is vital to resume the border with China and import goods adding that the entire government offices in the area are completely ravaged.
