TRACTOR DRIVER ARRESTED FOR HIDING MONEY

Gaushala, Aug. 8: Police have arrested a tractor driver on the charge of hiding money belonging to landlord saying it was looted by an unidentified group, Thursday night.

The arrested is Bharat Das of Sapahi-7 of Dhanusha district, according to the District Police Office.

Deputy Superintendent of Police, Lokendra Shrestha, said that Das was arrested after police found Rs 100,000, which was said to be looted, buried under the ground near Bighi bridge.

Rasid Sheikh of Dharmapir-8 of Mahottari district had given the money to Das to pay to proprietor of Taj Trading, Mohammad Najamuddin. Najamuddin is landlord of Das.

Das had informed the police that two persons on a pulsar motorcycle had looted the money which was given by Sheikh to pay to Najamuddin.

Police suspect involvement of Das in the incident and started interrogation after a team deployed from the District Police Office could not find the looters.

In course of interrogation Das committed the crime and brought the money hidden under the ground, said Shrestha. According to the Office, preparation was underway to file case against Das. RSS
