Biratnagar,28 Dec 2014: Different trade union networks have demanded immediate release of two civil servants arrested on the charge of physically assaulting journalist Bramhadev Yadav.

Police arrested Divisional Engineer Taranath Poudel and Engineer Prem Chandra Jha of Sunsari-Morang Irrigation Project, Biratnagar, on the charge of assaulting the journalist on Wednesday.

Issuing a joint press release, Nepal National Civil Servants Organisation, Nepal Civil Servants Employees’ Association, Nepal Civil Servants Employees’ Organisation, Madhesi Civil Servants’ Forum and National Independent Employees Club demanded immediate release of the employees.

The press release stated that the attention of the organisations have been drawn as journalist Jha tried to over-hype the minor dispute held with the employees, among others.

The organisations also warned of launching agitation by halting all services if the employees are not released.
