Tribhuvan University to Organize an International Conference

Kathmandu, 11 January, 2018: ‘International Conference on Rural Development’ is scheduled to be conducted in the capital from March 23 to March 25. The conference is being hosted by the Tribhuvan University’s Central Department of Rural Development.

The motive behind the conferenice is to convene politicians, policy-makers, researchers and other stakeholders both from within the country and outside the country in order to efficiently formulate future government policies from the ideas of these experts.

Head of the Department of Rural Department, Dr Pushpa Kamal Subedi, mentioned that 70 international experts from various sectors as well as politicians, high-ranking officials and experts from Nepal will be conversing in the conference.

Experts from 10 countries including India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, the United States of America, Canada and Japan among others besides Nepal will attend the conference. The major discussions of the convention will be on tourism, agriculture, environment, food security, good governance, sustainable development, natural resource management and federalism.

The Central Department of Rural Development under TU was set up 17 years back and since then it has been offering courses on rural development in colleges across the country and producing the human resources in the related field.
