Kathmandu, Aug. 28: The Nepal Truck Transport Entrepreneurs’ Federation has demanded easy supply of river-borne construction materials including sand and pebbles that is consumed inside the country.
At a press conference held here Wednesday, President of the Federation Arjun Ranabhat said the truck owners would be forced to take to the streets if immediate measures are not initiated to ease the supply of the basic construction material.
He accused the government and the crusher industrialists of sitting idle even when the supply of construction materials has come to a halt. “This will also lead to a halt in the supply of cement and iron rods and thereby breakdown of the long-distance transport trucks”, added Ranabhat.
On the occasion, the Federation announced a series of agitation including handing over of memorandum to concerned ministries and political parties, showing of black flags in protest and widespread publicity.
