Kathmandu,2 April 2015: After the agitating Dr Govind KC broke his fast-unto-death strike on the 12th day on Thursday, the TU Teaching Hospital resumed its regular medical services. Only emergency services at TUTH were in operation throughout the strike launched by the doctors in support of Dr KC’s demands.

The Hospital administration issued a notice of service resumption following the Nepal Medical Association’s withdrawal of stir programmes.

Nepal Resident Doctors’ Association Chairman Dr Ramchandra Sapkota thanked all who showed solidarity and support to Dr KC’s hunger strike.

The NMA has withdrawn all agitation programmes. NMA General Secretary Dr Muktiram Shrestha said the agitation programmes were withdrawn following the agreement with the government side to address the demands raised by agitating Dr KC.

Medics had enforced a general shutdown of OPD services.
