Kathmandu, January 22, 2018: In an official tweet through its Twitter handle, the U.S. Embassy, Kathmandu has informed that its American Center Library in Kathmandu and social media accounts would come to a temporary termination. However, the shutdown will not affect the U.S Embassy consular services and scheduled visa processing.
The reason behind this shut down has been cited as the enraging budget deficiency going in the U.S. embassy at Kathmandu. Due to the issues of immigrant problems two days ago, the senators of the US have been differentiating in their views and the U.S. government shut down. These differences have led to the budget contentions in America and the U.S. Embassy in Kathmandu had to face the repercussions.
The embassy has not informed about the continuity of its services as of now.
The Embassy tweeted, “Due to the lapse in appropriations this twitter feed will not be updated regularly. Please visit @StateDept for updates.”
