Kathmandu, Sept 26: UCPN (Maoist) has called on Dr Baburam Bhattarai, party senior leader, who announced to quit the party Saturday to reconsider his decision.
A meeting of the party Standing Committee at party Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal’s residence at Lazimpat today stressed that Dr Bhattarai was not supposed to leave the party under any circumstances, when the unity within the party was a must to handle the post-constitution situation. The meeting urged leader Bhattarai to rethink his move to exit from the party, Standing Committee member Agni Prasad Sapkota told media persons after the meeting.
Bhattarai’s move at a time when unity among all the political has been realised to safeguard national sovereignty and integrity was not expected at all.
Party Secretary Top Bahadur Rayamajhi and Standing Committee member Devendra Poudel who are believed to be close to Dr Bhattarai were present in the meeting.
