Kathmandu, March 26: UCPN (Maoist) on Thursday expressed concern over the government’s preparation to grant the visa processing contract to foreign private companies.
The party insisted that the proposal forwarded by the Home Ministry is not in the interest of the country and its people, and that it would risk top secret information from leaking out. The party has also asserted it would endanger national integrity.
The third largest party in the Constituent Assembly has labeled the proposal pending deliberation at the Council of Ministers’
Economic and Infrastructure Committee as being seriously concerning and bearing the nature of treason, said UCPN (Maoist) Spokesperson Dinanath Sharma, calling for immediate withdrawal of the proposal.
The meeting of the Legislature-Parliament International Relations and Labour Committee held on Wednesday had instructed the government to halt the government preparation for granting visa processing contract to private companies.
The committee also took the decision to summon the Home Minister and the Minister for Foreign Affairs for a discussion to acquire information over the ongoing process related to the preparation for granting such a permission.
