Kathmandu, Dec 26: Chairman of the UCPN (Maoist) Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said there were different elements against communist movements splitting the communist parties on various factions.
Addressing a function organized on the occasion of the 121st birthday (December 26) of Chinese communist leader Mao Tsetung at party headquarters on Friday, Chairman Dahal stressed on the need for unity among the communist parties, keeping aside political interests.
Chairman Dahal expressed worry that the communist parties that have succeeded to raise the agenda of the socio-political change are now split to various pieces on different reasons. The Central Committee meeting of the UCPN (Maoist) would bring a concrete proposal for the unity among the revolutionary communists parties, he informed.
He said, “There is no need of separate party formation, I would like to call the Maoist parties led by Mohan Baiddy, Netra Bikram Chand, and others to be united under a single political force.”
Former Prime Minister Dahal said he was ready to sacrifice for the party unity, and urged all communist forces to unite as desired by public and the need of the country by giving up reservations.
During the programme, other leaders of the party spoke on the dimension of Chinese communist leader Mao Tsetung’s life as well as Maoist’s movement in Nepal.
