Kathmandu, Jan 28: The Unified CPN (Maoist) has decided that its constituent assembly (CA) members would not attend any of the parliamentary committee meetings.
A meeting of the UCPN (Maoist) parliamentary party held at Singha Durbar today, besides reviewing the present situation, decided not to attend the parliamentary committee meetings as per its policy of non-cooperation to the ruling parties, the government and the Speaker.
Party leader Agni Prasad Sapkota said decision has also been taken by which all the CA members would be required to go meet the people in their respective constituencies to make the movement initiated by the party more strong and effective and to dispel the misunderstanding spread by the ruling side regarding the activities taken place in the CA.
The meeting also decided not to attend any of the CA committees as well. It said although there is a programme for holding a mass demonstration until February 28 in Kathmandu as of now, additional protest programmes would be announced considering the government’s response, it is stated.
