Kathmandu, October 5: Â National Sports Council (NSC) member-secretary Yubraj Lama has said that unprofessionalism on part of athletes, coaches, and managers was responsible for a poor condition of Nepali sports sector.
Talking to RSS Monday, NSC member-secretary Lama underlined the need of developing sports physical infrastructures and increasing the capacity of coach to achieve better results in the sports competitions in the days ahead. Development of Nepali sports sector has not been possible due to an unprofessional attitude of sports persons, coaches and managers.
His remarks came following Nepal’s poor performance in the recent 17th Asian Games. Nepal returned to home with just one bronze in Karate in the 2014 Asian Games held in Incheon city of South Korea from September 19 to October 4.
Eighteen-year-old Bimala Tamang from Dhading won a bronze in Karate’s Kata under singles women category. Nepal participated in 25 games in the recently concluded 17th edition of Asian Games.
