Upper Mustang folks gear up for repairing damaged road

Mustang, April 1, 2016: Maintenance of Samar-Bhiyana section under the 93-kilometer Jomsom-Korola route in upper Mustang has begun with the direct participation of the locals. The route links the district with the Chinese border Korola. This route is taken as an entrance to the upper Mustang.

Though the repair of the two-kilometer section is estimated to cost Rs three million, the District Development Committee has just provided Rs 1.2 million for the same, said Tashi Gurung of Lomanthang. Locals, the Nepal Police, Armed Police Force and Nepal Army personnel are to provide voluntary labour to repair the damaged section.
