Ilam, Sept 5: The tea land soil testing laboratory set up at Fikkal of eastern Ilam has not come into operation in lack of competent human resource.

The laboratory installed three years ago to expand tea estate after testing tea land soil is lying idle owing to unavailability of technical human resource.

Though the laboratory is equipped with necessary machines and equipments, the soil testing has been stalled in absence of technicians.

“The soil acidity or PH scale, nitrogen and phosphorous used to be tested in the past. But, the testing is not taking place due to no competent technical human resource for tea”, said Chief of Tea Estate Expansion Project, Fikkal, Deu Kumar Shivu. RSS
