Kathmandu, Sept 24: Vice President Parmananda Jha today left for Lhasa, the capital of the Tibet Autonomous Region of the People’s Republic of China to participate in the First China-Tibet Tourism and Cultural Fair.
The Fair jointly organised by the Culture Ministry and the National Tourism Centre of Tibet is taking place from tomorrow until September 27.
Vice President Jha, who is attending the Fair as a special guest, is scheduled to leave for Kailash Mansarovar in Tibet after that.
The Vice President’s entourage comprises his spouse, Secretary at the Office of the Vice President Raj Kumar Malla and Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ambika Devi Luintel, among others.
Officiating Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Khaganath Adhikari, Ambassador of China to Nepal, Wu Chuntai and senior officials at the Office of the Vice President saw off the Vice President at the airport.
Vice President Jha will return home on September 29.
