Kathmandu,18 Dec 2014: Trade union leaders called on the government to systematise the foreign employment, ensuring the rights of workers.

Taking part in an interaction programme on ‘Foreign Employment: Opportunities and Challenges’ organised by the Trade Union Congress on the occasion of the International Migrants Day today, the participants sought the  seriousness on the part of the government towards the  problems of workers.

Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Bimalendra Nidhi expressed his hope that economic activities in the country will take right track and it will create employment opportunities in the country once a new constitution is promulgated.

The government is committed to systematising the foreign employment, he added.

“It is really unfortunate for the nation that young human resources are tired in the hunt of employment opportunities,” he said, underlining the need of economic progress in the country to address social imbalance brought by foreign employment.

Also speaking on the occasion, Union President Khilanath Dahal sought guarantee of life security of workers associated with the construction sector.

Union Vice President Ram Poudel and General Secretary Mahendra Prasad Yadav demanded the government create employment opportunity for its people within the country and systematize foreign employment.
