Pokhara,1 Feb 2015: Deputy Prime Minister and Local Development Minister Prakashman Singh on Sunday said negotiations for a consensus would run along with the voting process to deliver a new constitution.
Addressing the 19th anniversary of Pokhara Sub-Metropolis, DPM Singh said there were no reasons for the opposition parties to be agitated with the formation of the Questionnaire Committee.
He said negotiations will run simultaneously for framing a new constitution in the spirit of consensus as the door on the prospect of agreement among the parties had not shut.
The Minister also called for affordable service to the denizens of Pokhara sub-metropolis which has now ramified into 28 wards from the previous 18 wards.
The programme was held under the chairmanship of sub-metropolis’ Executive Officer Mahesh Baral during which lawmakers Jiwan Pariyar, Regional Administrator Dinesh Kumar Thapaliya, former mayor Krishna Thapa among others gave their statements.
DPM Singh also laid foundation stone for a shopping complex being constructed at Srijana Chowk of this beautiful city. The complex will be constructed with an investment of Rs 80 million.
