Kathmandu, July 19, 2017: Hike for Nepal, a non-profit organization run by a group of young tourism entrepreneurs which gathers supports for earthquake affected communities and schools in Nepal by organizing charity hiking events in and outside Nepal, is organizing a Baghdwar-Okhreni-Sundarijal Circuit hike this Saturday. Hike for Nepal, promoting Nepal as a safe travel destination even after the recent earthquakes, has been organizing hiking events once every two weeks in Kathmandu Valley and surrounding regions.

The hiking event slated for this Saturday involves walking inside the dense forest of Shivapuri-Nagarjun National Park. The park, located in the country’s mid-hill of the northern part of the Kathmandu Valley, includes historical and religious sites, and a popular hiking route for local and tourists, including Pani Muhan and Bagdwar (a place from where Bagmati is originated). The National Park provides a magnificent view of dense vegetation and wildlife, with the very healthy hiking route for all the hikers.

The initiative, which began with a social media campaign since 2015 along with Mr. Rajesh Hamal and other 120 hikers in Nagarjun Hill- Jamacho Gumba Hike, continues to organize regular hiking and trekking events in different locations of Nepal to promote participation of people at a mass level. They have organized 51 hiking events in Nepal, more than 15 events in Stockholm Sweden, 1 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and 1 in London till date, and plan to organize more.

“So far we have supported the rebuilding of schools in Nuwakot and Lamjung and supported the provision of uniform and school bag for the students in Solukhumbu district. Overwhelming participation of Nepalese youth and their desire to explore their own country always inspires us to get us going. As an organizer, we are more than proud to create this common platform to travel for Nepalese. The number of new participants is increasing in every event and we are really optimistic about that,” shared Dinesh Paudel, the organizer of the event.

Paudel, very cheerful about the overwhelming response from the people, calls everyone to join the hiking team this Saturday for mild refreshment amidst this rainy season.
