WATER LEVEL IN ARTIFICIAL LAKE DECREASES

Chautara, Sept 7: Water level in the artificial lake formed at Jure of Ramche-5, Sindhupalchowk due to blockage in Sunkoshi River following the massive landslide occurred on August 2 has decreased.

The water level in the lake has decreased by around 12 meters.

The artificial lake has burst suddenly at 3:00 am today. The Nepalese Army has long been trying to unclog the pool to drain out dammed water.

Out of 18 submerged houses, around eight houses, at Mankha-1 and the Sanima hydro power building at Dhuskun which had gone underwater after the landslide incident can be seen now.

Police Inspector at the Area Police Office, Barhabise, Jayashwor Rimal, said that situation of the area is now normal.
