June 19, 2016:Â A Land Rover Discovery Sport is built to tow about 2.5 tonnes of the weight. So it does become newsworthy when a video pops up of a Land Rover Discovery Sport diesel towing three train carriages 58 times its weight at almost 100 tonnes. That’s as heavy as a Boeing 757. And to make the feat even more spectacular, these crazies manage to do it over an 85-foot-high bridge! Madness is the word.
The incredible video, shot in Switzerland, aimed to show the company’s semi-autonomous driving technology, its 178-bhp diesel engine, tow assist, tow hitch assist and all-terrain progress control that apparently automatically manages engine output and braking. It clearly achieved that.
Check out the mental video.
