‘Style is personality. It’s the ability to look at things beyond fashion and the self- confidence to transform even the simplest thing into something special.’ – Dolce and  Gabbana

Fashion is the term usually used to portray a style of dress worn by most of the people. It is style especially in clothing, footwear, accessories, make-up or anything else that we use for style. Fashion is a creations of textile designers and is said to reflect the personality of the person. A fashion usually remains in trend for about a year and then is replaced by another fashion. Clothing style is a design that might get drifted away but still we can see those old clothes being passed from one generation to other. Fashion might get out of trend at some point but again they come back. Belly pant is an example that was famous in 90’s and now it has come back again in the fashion industry.

The first fashion designer was Charles Fredrick Worth. The English brought the concept of haute couture house in Paris for the first time. Despite the fact that before the tailors and dressmakers were responsible for unique designs and textile industry certainly led many trends. The history of fashion design is seen from (1958) 19th century because of Charles Fredrick Worth. Worth was the first designer to actually dedicate to his customer what to wear rather than following their demands. Before he set up his fashion design house in Paris, clothing was made by anonymous dressmakers and fashion standards were derived from the style worn by royalty.

Fashion designing is creating clothes with your own creative minds which comes with comfort. For teenagers, style is a physical appearance for expressing themselves. We see youngsters being influenced by the celebrity and copy that style. Fashion makes us more creative in our everyday life. However, fashion or your everyday look can make a whole lot difference in business world. For examples, if you are wearing something that makes you look more professional to a job interview, formal dress, then you are more likely to be taken seriously and consider you for the job. Whereas if you dress casually, it might create an impression of you not being serious.

Fashion also depends on the culture. In South Asia we can see people wearing Kurtha, Sari, Lehenga and have different designs and touch of their culture. Similarly, in Western wearing Kurtha isn’t common and they prefer comfortable and free dress.

Hence, the way we present ourselves plays an important role because first impression matters and it speaks about us.
