Saptari, Aug. 7: A woman was physically assaulted at Jamuni Madhepura VDC in Saptari district Wednesday evening on the charge of practicing witchcraft.Local Aziz manhandled Mariyam Khatun, 32, of Jamuni Madhepura VDC-6 on the charge of practicing witchcraft.
Khatun said that Aziz, who had been harassing her for the past few days, thrashed her while she was returning home from the farm. She received deep injures on her back, head and face due to the beating and is undergoing treatment at Gajendra Narayan Singh Sagarmath Zonal Hospital.Khatun’s husband, Raheem, is in overseas employment, it is learnt.
Before this, locals had thrashed Pabitra Devi Yadav of Nakati Rayapur VDC-6 in the district on July 31 on the charge of practicing witchcraft. RSS
