The commercial mushroom farming has gained pace after the women are attracted and enthusiastic to this venture citing the availability of market and low production cost.
The women of Nilkantha Municipality-12 in Dhading district have started commercial mushroom farming. The women linked with Sangkosh Women Agriculture Cooperative have started commercial farming. The mushroom training provided by the Agricultural Knowledge Centre. The mushroom is produced through an organic process. The local market price of the mushroom Rs 200 per kilograms.
Cooperative President, Pampa Nepali said mushroom farming was started to make its members independent and self-reliant from commercial farming.
