Women of Nawa Village organized sanitation campaign

Bajura, April 6, 2018: Budhiganga Municipality of Nawa Village women’s started a campaign of sanitation in Bajura.

Local women of the area formed a group for public awareness programme for sanitation and started a campaign, stated Mayor Dipak Bikram Shah of Budhiganga Municipality.

The drive launched by local women has come with the positive outcome and the group has also formed Sanitation Fund via community organization, said Sarita Thapa, Secretary of Women’s Group.

Earlier, the villagers had fallen ill due to the stench from garbage and after the sanitation campaign started the number of ill people has decreased thoroughly, said  In-charge Dipak Shah at Tante Health Post.

Previously, the women were also actively concerned to have an open defecation free zone in the village.

Government and non-government organization both have been helping to establish a model village, said Chief Krishna Bogati of District Drinking Water and Sanitation Sub-division Office.
