Kathmandu, July 14, 2016: A workshop has recently been organized in town focusing on the Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) action plan implementation.
Organized by Asian Development Bank (ADB) Nepal Resident Mission to discuss about the Asian Development Bank Assisted Projects, the workshop was participated by Gender and Social Development Focal Persons from Government of Nepal, GESI Unit staff and project GESI specialists involved in the implementation of ADB financed projects in agriculture, irrigation, urban infrastructures, water, energy, transport, and vocational skills sectors.
The workshop had a discussion on the achievements and challenges in GESI Action Plan implementation and monitoring; and tracking outcome level GESI results. The workshop highlighted the areas for capacity strengthening of executing and implementing agencies for effective GESI mainstreaming in projects and proposed aligning GESI in national programs for achieving Sustainable Development Goals.
