Kathmandu, 5 September-  The World’s shortest man ever  Chandra Bahadur Dangi of Nepal has passed away while undergoing treatment at Pago Pago-based Lyndon B Johnson Tropical Medical Center in American Samoa on Friday afternoon.
He was the shortest man  recorded history for whom there is irrefutable evidence, measuring 0.546 m (1 ft 9 1â„2 in). Dangi was a primordial dwarf. He broke the record of Gul Mohammed (1957–1997), the shortest adult human whose height was 0.57 m (1 ft 10 in). Chandra came to news highlights of local media when a wood contractor saw him in his village. Three of his five brothers were less than four feet tall, while his two sisters and two other brothers are of average height.

Dangi along with his nephew Dolakh Bahadur Dangi had been in American Samoa in connection with taking part in an event there. Upon falling ill, he was being treated for pneumonia for the past few days, his aide Thaneshwor Gurgain said quoting Dangi’s nephew.
Dangi, who was born on November 30, 1939 at Kalimati of Rampur VDC, Salyan, was a permanent resident of Rimkholi of Purundhara VDC of Dang.
He was awarded the title of shortest adult human ever recorded after his height was measured in 24 hours. He was subsequently enrolled as one of the Guinness World Records. He was unmarried.
