Chitwan, 28, 2015: Worth Rs. 120 million damages have been there in the Hindu religious destination of Devghat due to April 25 earthquake and subsequent aftershocks.

Devghat Area Development Committee Sailendra Kumar Piya said that religious huts, temples, schools and houses in the Devghat area have suffered extensive damage in the quake. He mentioned that 100 houses in the Devghat area have been fully damaged while 358 houses suffered minor damage. Similarly, the Harihar, Indira, Galeswor and Mahendra Ashram, Mani Mukundeswar Chakrawarti temple, and three schools were also damaged.

The Committee member Tanka Nath Poudel said that discussion is underway on ways to rebuild the Ashram and temples as they have communicated about the damages with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and the District Administration Office. As per the source, NC Vice-president Ram Chandra Poudel had inspected the damages and assured of necessary support on behalf of the state in rebuilding the area on Wednesday.
