Kathmandu: Yeti Airlines has disposed of plastic cups on all its aircraft. The airlines have used paper cups instead of plastic cups to give passengers water and beverages.

Participating in the inaugural event of the paper cup, UNDP Resident Representative, AyshanieLabe said the efforts of Yeti Airlines were very positive.

An airline spokesperson, Mr. Bimraj Rai, said-” Yeti Airlines was the first airline to launch a Carbon Neutral campaign in Nepal, displacing the plastic cups being used on the aircraft”.

He argued -“Plastic cup displacement is another step in the carbon Neutral campaign. The use of paper cups instead of plastic will clean the environment and reduce carbon emissions”.

Along with paper cups, airlines have used four additional electric cars. This is an additional effort by Yeti Airlines in the campaign of Carbon Neutral.

Yeti Airlines is working in collaboration with the United Nations Development Mission (UNDP) to accomplish the Millennium Sustainable Development Goals.
