Yoga Club In Kathmandu Engineering College

19 July, 2015: KEC Yoga Club was formed in Kathmandu Engineering College, Kalimati to make Yoga practice more relevant. The club was inaugurated by Chief Secretary of Nepal Government, Lilamani Poudel who has strong belief in eastern philosophy and yoga. The inauguration was done with help of  automatic motor made by Mr. Reewaz Neupane, member of the Robotics Club.

Shanta Kharel, Yoga teacher of KEC made the participants: students, teachers and staffs, practice several Yoga postures and meditation. Principal Er. Shiva Prasad Koirala and Chairman Prof. Er. Hirendra Man Pradhan was the guest for the event.  Chief Guest Mr. Lilamani Poudel said, “Action done in awareness brings happiness and Yoga is the means to increase awareness and healthiness among people.” Chairman Hirendra Man Pradhan informed that regular yoga classes is being conducted for students, teachers and staffs since past 8 years in order to develop their academics and personality.

Mr. Poudel distributed certificates to more than 200 participants that celebrated first International Yoga Day on June 21 in KEC. A 13 member committee, including teachers, staffs and students, is formed under the co-ordination of Mr. Madan Neupane, Electronics and Communication faculty. The program was conducted by Club Member Mr. Durgesh Pradhan, who has been associated to The Art of Living since last four years. The program started with Sanskrit Mantras and served ‘Sattvic Bhojan’ at the end.
