Youth come together for preserving indigenous culture


Jajarkot, 30 Oct 2014: Local youths have come together to preserve art and culture that are gradually disappearing.

Stating that the time-honoured culture is vanishing from society with growing modernization, the youths of Khagenkot VDC, a remote part of the district, have joined hands to protect and preserve their art ande culture, said Youth Cultural Network Chairperson Lokendra KC.

Altogether 26 youths and a seven-member advisory network have been active for the cause of preserving art and culture, Network Advisor Bishnu KC added.

The Network will hold its meeting every month and collect Rs 50 each from its members, KC informed. The fund will be mobilized to renovate the Kalikamai Temple at Khagenkot.
