Kathmandu, Dec 31: Youth lawmakers from different political parties are to launch different programmes including sit-in and signature campaign to exert pressure for the promulgation of new constitution on coming January 22.
An understanding has been made among lawmakers, gathered at the office of the Legislature-Parliament Finance Committee at Singha Durbar today, to exert pressure to promulgate the new constitution on stipulated time by forming a group named ‘Pressure campaign for constitution writing’, said CPN (UML) lawmaker Garima Shah.
Similarly, the gathering also determined to meet top leaders of major political parties and the Constituent Assembly (CA) Chairman for exerting pressure on them for bringing the new constitution on the set time and to hold interaction among lawmakers.
Shah said they would make their agitation vociferous by holding an extensive gathering of lawmakers at the CA if constitution writing process was not taken ahead within January 9.
Chandra Bhandari, Gagan Thapa of Nepali Congress, Prakash Jwala, Rajan Bhattarai of CPN (UML), Pramila Rana of CPN (United), Milan Kumari Rajbanshi of Nepal Pariwar Dal, among other were present in the gathering.
